For more than a decade the Centre and its experts have offered intensive interactive training seminars that have helped more than 400practicing lawyers and human rights defenders from Council of Europe countries enhance their professional skills and knowledge in international human rights to defend and promote human rights in Europe and Central Asia. The alumni of the Centre’s trainings are playing critical roles in promoting human rights and rule of law in their countries.Dozens of trainees are working at leading human rights NGOs and human rights institutions in post-Soviet countries;many participants became leading experts in this field in different regions; some trainees became legislators and actively promote human rights laws; others became judges and leaders in organizations of lawyers; many of the alumni train other lawyers in need of practical knowledge and skills in the field of human rights protection.

The Centre’s trainings provide unique opportunities for human rights lawyers to acquire practical tools to use international human rights mechanisms to protect fundamental human rights and freedoms. The trainees also obtain skills and practical knowledge on effective execution of decisions of international human rights bodies.
